What is the Course?

What Does the Course Include?

The course covers such topics as how to assess an incident, the defined roles and responsibilities of an Emergency First Aider, the signs and symptoms of injury and illness and how to assist an individual suffering after an accident or illness in the workplace.

More specifically, the course is broken down into the following sections:

Potential barriers to treating individuals will also be discussed as well as how to assess an injury in the first instance and what to do when treating a patient who is unconscious as a result of their accident or illness.

General First Aid

The final section of the course covers some other first aid issues that may arise in the workplace. Individuals will be taught how best to deal with choking, seizures and epilepsy, how to act fast when a person suffers burns in an accident, how to cope with spinal injuries and also how to tend to bleeding, wounds and help a person in shock.

How is the Course Taught and Assessed?
